| Criminal Defense |

For many people the term criminal defense conjures up images of bad people doing bad things. However, criminal defense usually means defending the liberties many of us take granted. For instance when a local teacher, with no criminal history, was charged with Driving While Intoxicated, threatened with losing his job and insulted by the arresting officer, he needed lawyers that were prepared to research the law and fight for him in front of a jury. He hired The Washington Firm and after two days in trial, the jury returned a “Not Guilty” verdict.
| When a mother defends herself and her children against an attack from angry neighbors and was charged with Aggravated Assault with a Deadly Weapon, a charge that carries a 20-year prison sentence, she needed lawyers with the proper training and attention to detail to defend her freedom. She hired The Washington Firm, and after a thorough case presentation to the Grand Jury, her case was “no billed”.
In each case, those people needed passionate representation and advocacy. In each case, The Washington Firm was proud to walk into court to defend those people. In the area of criminal defense passionate representation means researching the law, the facts and the people involved. It also means taking that research and preparing arguments designed to protect the freedom of our clients. |
